A Letter

Contributed by JoeyTrib1550 on Saturday, 9th December 2006 @ 03:43:54 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

You walked away from responsibility, off that path
Away into the emptiness of my soul, away on hidden roads
You turned a pre-existing love into silent wrath
It’s this part of me you stole, which with you corrodes

Leaving footprints on my mind, stepping on my heart
Every time I follow those tracks, leading to you
But there is nothing to find, everything apart
From those deep cracks, left by you

Brought me here in this world, the reason I exist
A path you didn’t want to follow, a path you dread
And the dust up whirled, which subsists
Leaves me in sorrow, for a part of me is dead

And I follow those tracks, to somehow find
What’s missing from me, the part
Of me doing backtracks, being blind,
Too naive to see, that from the start

The tracks I followed, were my own
Just wishing you are there, with me somehow
And the tracks erode, standing alone
Just wishing you were there, with me somehow

The feelings I burrowed, under my birthstone
Just wishing you’d been there and not anyone
Seeing you on the byroad, a part of me unknown
Just wishing you’d care of what’s become

Of yours sincerely

Your son

Once again you have written a wonderful poem. I am really sorry about your situation and if you ever need someone to talk to I am there.
