A Pharlap heart

Contributed by one-curly-fry on Wednesday, 6th December 2006 @ 09:46:04 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I let myself in
a cold key
to a cold bed
a cat cries
for her food
but nothing for me
a Pharlap heart
to run a mile
for your profit
and a patch of grass
but where am I
now, in this cold bed
after I ran that mile
and you talk big
about your wallet
giving me just this patch
my place in the world
a Pharlap heart
bleeding in vain
the key is cold
- so cold
laying on this bed
muscles tired
- so tired
when they would have burned
just for you
if you could have love
loved me too
as I loved you.
