The Thought Shop

A thought for a penny
A dwelling , a sad one for more
I discovered a shop that has
All these to store.

I found it on one of my walks
A small dingy, cool place with rundown chairs
It has shelves lined with dreams, mournings,
Yelps of cheer, joy and love in layers.

“You’ve found a friend to be with”.
Uttered a man and left.
“A little more than that…” I wanted to say
But couldn’t. As always.
I think I have come astray.

I sit on a chair and look around.
A woman smiling, a child wandering,
I see a man kneeling down,
I think he is looking for something.

“looking for something ?” a voice startled
“just curious.” I said.
“that’s how it starts” the man said
And holds out a small bottle, amber Red.

“Just looking” I said.
“looking is seeking” he says, the shrewd one.
“Yours”. He sets the bottle down.
And leaves. Like a deed is done.

It’s in my pocket now, as I leave.
I feel a little higher, happy to the core.
Now that I have hope in a bottle
I can walk a little more.

I found a thought shop.

Wow. I love this poem. Its so... homely is the only way I can put it. Its so simple yet sooo effective. COOL
