Were that you were really mine
But time after time I watch
As you go off to someone else
Am I not good enough to earn your respect?
No, I am light to your dark
Left wondering why
I walk the lonely night
Lost in memories as to what went wrong
Yet, I know I have worth
An empty shell the world sees
For I have nothing left
My heart no longer beating
But, I still hold strong
I will watch as you flounder
Chasing shooting stars
Always a step from true love
Still, I wait
Alone in my misery
Knowing I am the one
I am your destiny

Shari, That is such a sad, haunting write. She waits after all the pain he's caused? That last stanza tore me up. Good stuff.
