Monologue of Life

Contributed by NDean on Sunday, 3rd December 2006 @ 01:55:06 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

The World is full
Of the mismatched languages of life.
The Trouble and Strife
In the twisting vortex of
Heaven on Hell.

As the bell tolls
For another break of freedom
People should stop and think
Get their heads together to understand
The Complexities of
Life
The Universe
And Everything

42
People on the roads to their offices
Run for the Starbucks
To drink the energy down
In the centre of town
Ready for anything the falseness of the world
Throws at them

Schools around country
Full of stress
In the bliss of the lands known as
“Your school days are the best you’ll ever have.
Don’t waste them”.

The name the lands have
Is not a lie

The tables creak
Squeak
Like mice in a queue to the movies
Full of anticipation
And consideration fills the air
As memories pass by like
Flies
In a small breeze

Then…
Its over.

And the world can work peacefully again
Flittering around their busy lives
Like the Jenny Wren
Because worries are no longer passed around
Like Telegrams

Cool. I like this poem. I think the link to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy fits in well! Good imagery. The elipsis at the end makes it sound like there's more. I like it.
Put on the storm poem.

John.

I really like how this poem talks about how people are so busy and hurry and rush through life, then when its over, there is time to relax and be at peace. Good job!
