Leaving behind the girl you always knew
Hoping for something new on the horizon
Looking for a sense of peace
Wishing things could go back to being simple
New people
New friends
Unfamiliar environment
Same old conflicts
She’s there for the morning jog
Sitting across the table at breakfast
Slight coincidence I might think
Until she’s there again at lunch
Not long before I’m escorting her
Canoeing together and climbing rock walls
Going to bed with only her on your mind
Getting up early just to say hi
Slow dance
Holding her close
New girl caught my heart
And I don’t want it back
Leaving behind the girl you just met
Hoping you’ll see her again
Afraid of losing the girl like the last
Not feeling the slightest regret
For finding the exact opposite of what you looked for
Cause you got exactly what you needed
