I want to shield you from the world –
To take away your sorrow
Anything to let you know
I’ll love you each tomorrow
I want to tell you how I feel –
When I look into your eyes
A place of safety I can go
Resembling heavens’ skies
I want to spend my life with you –
Through times of thick and thin
As long as you are by my side
There’s nothing we can’t win
I want to make you recognize –
Your heart is made of gold
A son of God, my future spouse
Together ‘til we’re old
Then I will take you by the hand –
In that Celestial realm of glory
To live forever with my love
The perfect end to commence our story

This is a really pretty poem. I've finally been able to open my heart back up to the possibility of that kind of love after having my it broken. The only suggestion I have for the title is to maybe change it to "Love's Journey" instead of life. I don't know if that helps. |
