How can I still care

Contributed by nothingness on Tuesday, 28th November 2006 @ 09:36:52 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Here I am screaming out to you
But I already know what you will do
You turn you back to me and refuse to hear
You close your eyes and can’t see that I’m sincere
How is it possible that I can still care?
I tried to trust you once but you were never there
You tossed me aside without a hint of doubt
And so easily found someone new to care about
So here I am watching from the side lines
Trying so hard to give you signals and signs
I know your path and I know the pain it holds
And I hate just sitting here as is quickly unfolds
If only you had listened that night I needed someone
Maybe then all this pain wouldn’t have begun
I just wanted you tell you why I hurt inside
I was going to show you that part of me that I try to hide
Tell you why I cry every single night
Tell you of all the personal wars I fight
At the time I just wanted someone to help me
Now I fear that my terrible nightmare will become your reality
I would give anything to spare you from this pain
But you wont even give me a chance to explain
I hate you why cant I just let you go
Let you live with your misery and woe
All you did is make me cry and pour out crimson regret
Why cant I go my own way and forget
Friends can never be family I already know
But I need my friends and that is why I cant let go
I will always be somewhere near
In case you ever need someone to just hear

very powerful write.. its rough to go through things.. someone once told me that friends come and go but family always stays.. there are few friendships that are good.. sometimes letting go of someone is the hardest thing to do. people have to take their own falls sometimes it helps them grow.. i wish you the best and hope that this friend sees what a good friend they have in you.. awesome piece though!! thanks for sharing
