The Lonely Crossroad

I'm on a lonely island standing still as a stone,
Yet the world around me is spinning out of control.
I feel like slow motion is the essence of me,
And with distant eyes I watch change come to be.
Nothing is moving, nothing's moving at all...
But everything's spinning, spinning out from my fall.
The sky is a hazy shade of unfamiliar seasons,
I'm drifting away from their logic and reasons.
You give me my options and I ask for your blood,
You deny me my life and I give you a flood.
Hardship in choosing, choosing once and again...
Praying for rain, rain that drowns all my pain.
And I am at a crossroad, looking left and then right,
Behind me is darkness, straight ahead is a light.
I hold out my hands to catch the rain like a cup,
And so I decide there is no way but up.
