Summer is here
while they seem confused
- and I see no change
just wet skin
- the same job
and nothing new
- to stimulate my mind
nothing happens anymore
- just another birthday
the same day over again
- and friends too tired
while I’m awake
- and eager
but the clock ticks again
- I wish for night
just so I can sleep
- dream of new things
of beachside parties
- friends ever arriving
of the flirt and loves hope
- out on golden dusk
yes, summer is here
- but it came without a suitcase
it just came like a beggar
- on my doorstep
with nothing at all to give
- only here to take
Summer is here.
