Why do families regret things of the past they didnt mean to say
Why do families fight almost every DAMN holiday
Why are there some mommys who say the kids CANT go with dad
Thier selfishness and jealousy is what makes her children sad
Why is there some husbands that can lie and cheat on thier wife
Why is it some wives can really accept this thier whole ENTIRE life
Why is it that pain exists and WHY cant God just let us forget
Instead he piles more on us so DAMN SURE he'll never regret
Why is it not one call from NO family though most of them ARE living
Its for all and every one of those reasons there ARE SOME only Half Thankful For Thanksgiving

I so totally feel ya' on this one, as I'm sure others do too. The thing of it is, the power to change this lies w/in ourselves...we just have to harness it & put it to work on creating new traditions we can truely be thankful for! Happy Turkey Day from one of the biggest turkeys around! Gobble, gobble...

You wrote this well. Strong and full of feeling.
I relate to this. I had a death in the family a couple days before Thanksgiving. I spoke with family I had lost touch with for the past many years. It was all so ironic to me, a death, then Im learning of things I never knew until this time. Sat me back a moment.
Hope your day was nice in the way you made it for yourself. That is what we did here, made our own.
