Grief
|
I scan the horizon and see vibrant rays of life
I look below and see reminders of death and destruction
I see forest for miles and ponder its magnitude
I glimpse at concrete and metal choking the roots of life
I can feel the warmth of the sun upon a free bird's wings
I touch the unbearable scorched ground beneath me
In the distant I breathe life and rejuvenation
Where I stand every breath is a reminder of harm
We have come a long way in such a short time
I ponder how long till the horizon is gone

My greatest fear is that propably you have long forgotten or demonized this poem, that you think of it as too bad to be commented or such nonsense.
I beg you not to do so, as I really love it, and by pure coincidence caught a glimpse on it and just can't understand why on earth this admirable piece of writing remains uncommented for more than 3 years. It makes me worry about my own poems, I tell you.
I really adore the last verse, as this is, after all, a question of such a necessity nowadays...
Kudos to you,
Libertina |
