more than a friendship

ive been waiting,
waiting for the day that we will be more than just friends,
but a handshake we made up is how each night ends,
when will it end with a hug and kiss,
the hardest thing is knowing that we both want it,
If I could have just one wish,
I would wish to wake up everyday
to the sound of your breath on my neck,
the warmth of your lips on my cheek,
the touch of your fingers on my skin,
and the feel of your heart beating with mine...
but me wishing and praying is pointless,
my dreams and prayers dont come true,
because if they did... i would already be with you.
