Broken Ballerina

Contributed by gurlg0newr0ng on Sunday, 19th November 2006 @ 05:57:49 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

She smiles like a child with out a care in the world
In her white cotton dress she dances and twirls
but when the music stops she falls to the ground
the blue cloudless sky comes crashing right down
Secrets eat at her heart like bugs devour dead flesh
She clings to the little bit of innocense left
she keeps a music box with a tiny dancer under her bed
She was his tiny little dancer, that's what he had said
And noone would understand so they never should know
She remembers it like yesterday though it was so long ago
But her little hands tremble and her soul is still blue
Her ears ring, "Your a naughty bad child and that's why I do this to you"
It's as if time came to a halt and she was still stuck in a dream
a bad dream where he smiled as she'd close her eyes and scream
blood in the bath tub where she would huddle and cry
She was too young to just wish she could die
She'd remove the eyes from her dolls so they didn't have to see
She thought,"then maybe they won't be so sad like me"
Now a little older yet still haunted, he'd scarred her so well
She was sure he was paying by burning in hell
His tiny little dancer, he'd broken her down
She would spend her whole life just falling to the ground

This is a fantastic powerful read!
It deals with sooo many issues and it takes a very brave writer to address them.
You expressed this intencely sad poem with such beauty I loved it
Bloody well done!
