“They attacked today,
From far away,
Our neighbors to the north,
A blizzardy tort,
Of Nomadic thinkers,
And unbelievers,
Yet they came with one man,
Who has changed us forever,
A red suited devil,
Without a letter.”
The speaker paused,
As he took a break,
Drank some water,
And searched for his fate,
Was the audience pleased?
Would they stay very long?
Or were they not listening,
Were they too far gone?
He cleared his throat,
And struggled to continue,
He had a job,
And it wasn’t to mingle,
“Don’t worry my friends,
The knight is gone!
Your neighbors caught him,
As he tried to run.”
The audience cheered,
And begged for his head,
The speaker put his hands up,
“Listen instead!
We have his corpse,
Look around.”
The people stopped,
And listened to the sound,
Of ropes being pulled,
And saw the feet come first.
Bloody and mangled,
The body rose out the earth,
Some people screamed,
Some shouted with glee,
For the head was missing,
They were free.
