The World was not
As it now is seen..
It once was draped
In a deeper green
With rarer gems
Than now we hold,
That the Sea brought up
On the sands of gold.
But the rust of ages
And breath of Time,
Covered the meadows
In an early rime..
And the wild-grass faded,
The gems were gone.
The Sea fell cold
As it thundred on.
In by-gone ages
The World was fair
And the Moon-Goddess played
With Her silver hair;
When brilliant Stars
With their crystal arms,
Bent low to welcome
Their Sister's charms.
The air laid-sweet
With the breath of land..
And the hilltops glowed
In their wealthy stand
While sweet and low
And rich and free,
The bright Moon-Goddess
Stole over the Sea~
And the waves would laugh
At the saffron Moon
As roses smiled on the Soul of June
In the Golden Age
Of Nature's Years;
No warnings heard
Of her coming years~
The world was fair
In the days of yore..
But that Golden Age
Shall come no more,
Though Sun may shine
And flowers bloom.
Lo! The goal of Men
Is the earthly tomb!

Babe ~ what a glorious and monumental piece of poetic
brilliance here.
Truly~
It would have, (and very easily could have) captured my
heart and soul, had it not lain 'neath the topic you've selected.
When viewed as a "loss", the words are sad and so completely
forlorn. A pity, really ..
Your talent never ceases to stir my soul. I barely have a
moment to breathe and then, you are filling me with the
most emotive and painfully beautiful lines .. sweetheart,
'tis you who are the magnificent one. And in all humility,
I bow at your mastery ~ (the likes of which, I've never known)
Exceptional, love. Truly a work of art!
~Breezy

The Moon Goddess
Shines her lustrous light
Bathing her lover with
Pleasure and delight
She warms up his heart
As she feels his hearts pain
May time be kind enough
For them to be together again
My POEt friend with such beauty and grace your words warm up the saddest of hearts.
I don't know why you have put this in the catergory that you did though?
May time be kind to you both hun~ Patience my friend. Good things come to those who wait.
A most beautiful write as always my dearest POEt friend. Take care.
love from ur fan/friend,
sue m

This is beyond anything I could have imagined. It has political and moral ramifications…two entities resistant to co-existence…yet you meshed them wonderfully with the flare of divinity and mysticism only you can provide… I was taken there, and sad you brought me back.
Lovely piece
A work you could be proud of

I just saw "An Inconvient Truth" by Al Gore on DVD. I feel that your poem underscores the truth Vice President Gore is trying to tell the world - that man is destroying our environment. And if nothing is done the world as we know it will be drastically changed forever - for the worse. Your poem very eloquently states this truth (at least in my interpretation). |
