What of Love.........

Why does love hurt?
Why must ones heart bleed?
Is there no way for only joy?
Can we not see a better way?

Is it only a quirk?
Does not love out weigh the need?
Are we not meant to enjoy,
The love and care that comes our way?

Will our love last another day?
Can a love survive life’s mad dash?
What shall rule the heart or the head?
Are we not destined to be more than mates?

Will no one enter the fray?
Prevent the things that lead to something rash.
How to know where to tread,
Will empty lust and desire be our fate?

Should not life’s goal be to create a bond of love?
Even as we are pulled apart by our own needs,
Caught unawares will we turn away?
Denying the pain that fights to prevail.

It is time we took off the gloves,
Spoil the fight, and sow the seeds,
Work to heal the wounds of younger days,
As one, we turn and fight for our love with tooth and nail.

I do like what it is that you had to say
maybe put it in different words...
but that is just me.
