Captive Dream

Contributed by Willofree on Tuesday, 14th November 2006 @ 10:10:53 PM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

The whispered word, or said aloud,
Athought rises, tethered to the heart
Perhaps, best kept secret
so as not to divulge the dream

I tremble at the possibilities
that exist within the depths of my soul
If I can dream the dream,
does that mean I can achieve what is foreseen

Something calm and tranquil enters my mind
Albeit, it takes courage and vision to pursue it
Or is the dream just an illusion,
something intangible that can't be reached

I struggle for clarity and direction,
that my imagination does not exceed my comprehension
Regardless what my unconscious mind might conjure up,
it is still better to dream, then not

Dreams are the breath of life puffed into my soul
where reality confronts fantasy
So that I may discern the truth
and follow my dreams into eternity

dreams are usually forgotten
lost where reality spits on them.
dreams are like those socks,
the ones that go into the dryer
but they never make it out
leaving you with a drawer full of
......missmatched socks....
lol...indeed it is hard to follow your dreams through eternity...but it's important that we never give up. (kind of like...looking for that sock every day...thinking, it had to go somewhere.....lol!) sorry...i have no clue what socks have to do with any of this...but i really enjoyed your write..it was beautiful...i think it's time for me to go to bed now. lol....

I loved this write, got me thinking how much our quality of life would be reduced if we couldn't dream and lacked imagination.
Great work.

I'm with Johnny, how many of the things we take for granted today began with a dream. Granted some dreams seem unattainable, but I think if you can remain focussed and put all available thought, time and energy into them, dreams most definately can and do come true.

Yes! Yes! Bravo poet! Bravo indeed!!!

Wil, you have expressed, with great fortitude, one of the
essentials to survival. Especially us poets, methinks.
Dreaming ... ah yes, that wonderful world where the
sky is the limit and anything and everything we ever
dared to aspire to is not only conceivable, but achievable
as well!! Beautiful flow of words and thought, here, Wil.

Damn gorgeous!!
