As We Lie Ourselves Goodnight

Take away every lie I've said, and you repaid me with trust
Take away all the tears you've cried, and I beg your forgiveness
Can't you see I'm trying?
I put forth the best effort I can and it's seemingly never enough
I've been broken, numb, and drowning in my own fate
So consumed with myself, I almost watched you slip away
As your heart cried out, I watched my whole life come crashing down
And as heaven cries, we'll stand quietly by
Arm in arm, blood stained with tears
And we'll lie ourselves goodnight
I'm trying, and through all the struggles I've given up on...
I desperately want to see this one out
