Romeo came to you
on his lip were the honeysuckle and rose
- his tongue, a ripe berry
he came to you
a tear in eye like a new star
muscles as eager as the sun on dawn
- he said love in a new language
that’s how he came
just for your hand in his
to dance across the golden dusk
love poems said in your laugh
- the purest of all things
There you were Juliet
glitter cheeks, bought and not paid for
- sweet perfume like the blossom
there you were
the babe of the Sprite and Mother Earth
given Romeo’s soft red rose bud
- and his world to make your heart
there you stood
too good to be his queen of fantasy
and for his childish and endless heart
a woman needs to wear a suit
- only the boss gets respect
Romeo, his love and respect
no longer enough for Juliet.

curse that juliet for all eternity!!! romeo is like one of the coolest characters ever! i prefer Tybalt (the guy i like!) but romeo would do anything for juliet, he even felt the need to end his own life when he thought juliet was dead...not exactly the smartest thing in the world but a sweet gesture none the less.
i like how your poem is in a way in shakespearian! you almost even quoted it! well paraphrased quoted kinda but still straight from teh play.
this sounds like a parody of r&j in the making...hopefully one in which romeo triumphs over juliet's need to shop in the end!
this is really cool! as much as i love the original r&j this is sounding sweet i just hope poor romeo doesn't end up alone! he sure doesnt deserve that :-)
