A Cowboy's Lament
I've burned all my bridges behind me.
Left barely tipping my hat.
Thought mostly of what only concerned me.
Now I've just got to live with that.
Yes I just have to live with that.
I seldom thought much about others.
I kept my feelings hidden under my hat
Treated few men as really my brothers
Now I've just got to live with that,
Uh hu, I've just got to live with that.
I kept to my own selfish pathway.
Seldom strayed to another's to chat.
A loner who must sadly now say,
I just have to go on living with that.
Well man you just have to live with that
The trail has been far from rewarding
But I chose it and that is a fact
My life has gone on so according
Now I've just got to live with that
I must go on living with that.
Looking back reaching the trails ending.
I've many regrets for my tact.
There's many a fence that needs mending
Wondering how I can live with that
Can I go on living with that ?
Guess I just got to go on living with that
I just got to go on with ........that
