Flawed

They always tell you: "You're normal"
For most, the statement is true
Yet...for some...the opposite rings as the truth
You see, for us, no good comes from the so called "great times"
The first kiss from the one you love...over time turns into the poison you are force-fed everyday
The love you once felt for them...becomes the plastic bag around your face
The vows that you take with them...has now become the suicide note left under the noose
As you shuffle the cards of fate, Death breathes down your neck
On the outside everything seems right, perfectly normal
But as you slowly peel back the layers with the blade...you'll find an angry and hateful soul
The soul of someone who has resigned their self to the gallows
In our world...this is the meaning of "normal"
Where the soul has become putrid and spiteful
In these facts...we are content
In the world of the souless...we are home
The reality around us is beautifully flawed

i think it's kool how every line has meaning to it in this poem. takes one little thing out and it throws off the balance of the whole thing. it's really good too(obviously)

FAV QUOTE-" In our world...this is the meaning of "normal"

I know how you feel, J. I've often felt these same things. I love how you paint such vivid pictures with your poetry and illicit such a guttural response from your readers.
