Walk along at my side,
Support me and even guide,
But do not, please I beg, pull me.
Let me choose my own path.
I am not always brave.
I can not always make a move.
I fear my heart’s choice.
I’ve lost far more than I can say.
What I ask is do not let me hide.
Stay near and with me abide.
Know your heart is safe with me,
There’s no choice and no path.
Together two can be brave.
Together two can move in a new groove.
Together one heart, one voice.
Let us together opt to stay.
Waking, sleeping side by side,
Hungering, grieving together as one,
Waiting, mating for all time,
Sharing, caring nothing lost.
Walk along at my side,
No longer two but as one.
Willingly invest of our time,
Counting the years, and ignoring the cost.

Personally i like this better than the 'Footprints' and would rather see this engraved and shared at a reception, on fine china that sets on a stand for all to read who pass under the roof of ones home...
Your poetic voice has a strong rythym and rings true to the aphoristic wisdom gathered to live by.
Peace
