She said Goodbye

Contributed by silver_crested_shadow on Saturday, 11th November 2006 @ 01:12:57 AM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

She said goodbye, as she walked away towards that sunset.
And in the end, her presence he could not forget.
Each night he drank more, and more every night.
With that bottle that she left him, to get her off his mind.
It was on that night,

He had found that bottle, in the kitchen,
and She had finally walked away from him.
With all that they went, thru together,
the strength to carry on faded away.
As the tears fell, from his eyes,
it looked like she’d never turn back.
With that sunset fading, at her feet,
that whiskey never tasted so sweet.

The tears fell, as she still thought of him, in her mind.
And in the end, his presence she could not forget.
Each night she drank more, and more every night.
With that bottle that he left her, to get him off her mind.
It was on that night,

She had found that bottle, in her bag,
and he had finally let her walk away.
With all that they, went thru together,
the strength to carry on faded away.
As the tears fell, from her eyes,
it looked like he’d never come after.
She had the same bottle, she’d given him,
that whiskey never tasted so sweet.

The night drifted, on and on like an endless river.
That bottle emptied, with every minute that passed on.
They both drank and drank a little at a time.
But they never could drink enough, to get each other off their minds.
It was on that night,

That bottle fell to the floor, and shattered,
Their hearts could take no more pain.
As they ran into, the streets,
They seemed to stare up into the stars.
As the pain of there loss, filled their eyes,
Their tears fell to the pavement below.
As they left the world, of a broken heart,
That whiskey never tasted so sweet.
