...she was looking passed everything else and focused solely on me.
I felt odd being so singled out and rather uncomfortable so I got up away from the table where I had taken a seat.
The people I was with stopped talking and just stared;
eyes followed as I moved toward her.
Her face was ashen as if she was up all night talking with ghosts.
She said to me in low tones “Can I have a moment?”
“Of course, are you alright” I asked now sharing her shock.
“My mother freaked out and had me committed!”
“What? What for?” I asked upset and angry for her.
She said “I was reading your poems and kind of spaced...
I guess my mother thought I had a seizure
so she drugged me and I woke up in the Hospital psych ward.” She said in monotone matter of fact.
“She drugged you?” I said flabbergasted but still asking for confirmation.
“Yeah, she put valium in my tea.”
“God, are you alright?” I asked rippling with concern.
“Yeah, I just knew I had to see you." said with a gray nervous shiver
"But my mother forbids this she’s taking me out of school before the semesters ended.”
“I guess we are a pair of star crossed lovers after all, my sweet”
She smiled, nodded and with her penetrating glare urged me to follow her out to the back of the building
briskly I strode behind her lead.
Once there in private we embraced.
I was at her face, lips and neck with butterfly kisses.
She cooed and shivered and seemingly lost her balance
and reached her hand out for the brick wall we were fast approaching,
as I anchored the swing
she fell into the wall as if was made of paper.
I felt her shift of weight and caught her full on as she began to tremble asking “Did you see that?”
“Yep, wow, weird it felt as if you went through the wall” I said and in disbelief.
I reached out and touched the very solid red brick faced wall.
She skittishly reached out and went to shift her weight and place her hand on the wall
and in front of both of our wide staring eyes
fingers first
her arm passed through the brick and came chopping down back to her leg.
She wailed in shrieks saying my name over and over.
I grabbed her by the shoulders and we sat face to face
for what seemed like many hours we stayed that way in silence.
Dusk was fast approaching and one thing more is true
with this woman time is a rocket.
Again in silence I took her hand and we touched the wall together.
As if in harmony with our hearts the surface was solid
she phased back to our shared wave length.
With this confirmation we walked to our cars and parted
never to be so close again.
So equated with a magical experience outside normalcy diverted any other path for us.
We met many times the flirting and mystic never diminished
but the moment to coalesce never came and any attempts on my part comes across as forced.
Years later we would talk on the phone and she would ask me “did I really put my hand through the wall?”
“Yes” was my solemn answer I remembered clearly
for on that day I also lost my true love.

It certainly explores boundaries and holds ones attention.
Well done. |

Wow, this was quick to become one of my favorite love based writings. Definately a deeper feel into what is mostly unknown...
