Standing Alone

Contributed by Nothingness on Friday, 10th November 2006 @ 09:28:53 AM in AEST
Topic: ChildrensPoetry

Here I am sitting here all alone
Listening to the ringing of the phone
No one here to hear the call
Only me watching as I fall
No one is around to care
No one is anywhere
I fade away and wonder why
No one was here to hear me cry
Maybe they just wanted me to leave
And when I am gone no one will grieve
All because I wasn’t the same
All because I wouldn’t play the game
I didn’t support their stupid war
I decided to take another door
And because I did I am now alone
Fading into a world unknown
But that’s okay if love deserves death
Then go ahead take my last breath
I am not ashamed of that path I chose
My independence certainly shows
I see everyone looking at me standing tall
How one can make a hundred seem so small
All it takes is one person to change the path
Just to stand up and face the world’s wrath
In the end it is all worth the pain
Knowing you’re the reason the evil was slain
That you were the one that took the stand
That you alone defied the command
I tell myself that as I completely fade
If only someone else would have been at my aid.

Tough decision to take. Talk is so often better than anonymity

Wow Beautiful poem, so well written. It's really sad. Thanks for sharing.
