4… 3… 2… 1…
Anger goes off at the sound of a gun.
Standing on the edge,
With a smile, you gladly push me off this ledge.
Snap your fingers, count the breaths,
Revenge is a sickness with a quick onset.
Heartbeats like earthquakes,
Love is the game he fakes.
Eyes swell, muscles tense,
Take your place; I’m on defense.
Whistle blows, fate chimes,
I’m not holding my tongue this time.

I liked the way the words had a beat to them like your heartbeat when angered.
