Man Does Not Live By Bread Alone

It struck with such force
A velocity
With a propensity to cause
Damage
And turn this courageous heart soft
Remarkably unexpected
Undetected
Stealthily infected
A body otherwise healthy
Otherwise tragedy
Averted
In an asserted plea
Your majesty
Please release me
Feed me to the wolves
Who hunger
Like I do
Taken heed
Facing the heat
The clumsy march dances
As the rhythm romances the beat
Left to clumsy chances
Lives become incomplete
Coupled with the outlandish
The sun becomes obsolete
As darkness is commanded
To remain intact
And never leave
It rained with such intensity
The drops dove freely
Splattered
On a forehead
With pleasure so vengeful
Puddles so red
Sunk in the waves
Their homes
With their dead
Their bones turned to bread
Buttered and toasted
Nothing is left to be said
