Can You See Now?

written for 10/24/06

Today in the hallway
I saw a familiar face
Just to watch you walk
I fastened my pace.

Then I saw another hand
Slide down your arm
This pretty eyed one
had also realized your charm.

So there, I stood.
My feet still moved but the walls didn't follow.
I gripped my arm. But all I could feel
was disgusted.
I swallowed.

My mouth open,
in shock and pain
Was shut as soon
as I could ascertain
exactly what just happened.
What had just happened?

You walked with her down
to the end of the hall
You both said your goodbyes.
And down my body did fall.
Down I went, down I stayed and sat.

On the floor
leaned against the bricks
I thought I'd never feel again
Lead myself to the sticks
[and put me out of my misery.]

Because you've got a new half,
and because you've found a similar soul,
it's made it more clear to me, I'll never
be your pink heart, your bright eyes, what makes you whole.

So I got up, and smiled
and played it off till later
I knew I could cry another time
But for now "things couldn't be greater", right?
Right?

Will I really hold this in so long?
Can there be a living outlet?
Do I really have to feign any smile
I make, and with your face to forget?

Now you have a significant other
and no one still takes how I feel seriously
and it's all too much for now. My arms hurt
I should test this. And see if someone now believes me.

I want to see if your face is still beautiful,
yes, your hair is still perfect even when I'm scaring you.

Maybe this gun will prove
that I really really really really like you.

You really bring out what you are feeling well. And I understand what it can be like and that sometimes you can trick yourself into being happy. But please remember that he isn't everything, and that there will be someone else just around the corner.

now dont go pullign a gun on anyone! if you do it to him, he wont be there to ever like you back, if you do it to her, he will hate you for all eternity....i'm in the same boat...he likes her not me, he has said that he will probably never date me......does that stop me from liking him? i think not...poems solve all problems,....at least they make you feel better...one day, he will not be with her and then you will get your chance..its the waiting that's hard...waiting for....10 months now.....for him to break up with her or the other way around...You WILL get your chance...if you dont, he's a loser...just walk up to him adn call him a sexy beast..he'll enjoy that! lol
poem...very very good..almost made me cry! b/c i know what its like to feel like that, hate being in this position...
"Today in the hallway
I saw a familiar face
Just to watch you walk
I fastened my pace."

every day.....this happens!

"My mouth open,
in shock and pain
Was shut as soon
as I could ascertain
exactly what just happened.
What had just happened?"

this also happens....i try to make it happen when he is not around so he doesnt notice...b/c he notices everything...at least you arent prectically forced to watch them make out..be grateful!!!

you love this guy, no denying it...otherwise you probably wouldnt write about him with such passion
love this poem!
good job!
