At birth it was known,
That I would be looked down upon,
As nothing but the bearer,
Of a daughter or a son.
I am weak and I am frail.
I am nothing compared to you.
To say that we are equal,
Is the furthest from the truth.
But it is I to whom you leeched from,
Who grew your mind from dust.
The first to teach you how to love.
The first one you could trust.
So the next time that you question,
Our equality,
Remember you would not exist,
If it were not for me.

I would like to have a better understanding of this. But even though I don't quite, "get it" something in me was struck enough to make me want to...get it, that is. And that in itself is a complement, sincerely.
