You and I

The sun felt so warm.
We were driving down the street with the relaxing reggae music on,
i looked at him and he smiled.
It made me smile.
And then something came over me and i started laughing and couldn't stop
we were just the same.
Both addicts.
Without dreams and wishes,
without it all.
Let's just not care.

Let's leave.
Chase, come with me.
Please, baby?
We don't need more time.
We know, we know it all already.
We've loved and we love and we will never love more.
Let's leave,
float up on a cloud in an endless pleasures of paradise.

Look down and see who we left.
Who did we leave? We have each other.
Let's watch them struggle,
let's watch them fight and be scared and cry and suffer and hurt.
Let's watch and not feel
again,
different numbness, a natural one this time,
the one that comes with no responsibility of feelings.
Just comforting euphoria of bodily pleasures
mixed in the long ribbon made of feelings entangling us together.

Nothing more.
Naked, exposing the true hearts instead of limbs and lies,
when a single look can express all the things we wish to share the others need to use words for.
We don't.
We are individuals separated form the others by a thin glass window
high up in the sky of remembrance.

The quiet satisfaction pulsing through our veins
as we breath out the west wind
which sweeps and tangles the other people's hair.
As we cry out the pouring rain
of euphoria leaving our eyes
we drown in each other's souls.

And then, when we finally close our eyes,
all turns dark and misty with violet shadows falling from our minds,
and glossy barrier will shine in spots like striking stars.
That is our world baby.
That's where we belong.
We've been hurt, we've hurt. We won't anymore
if you leave with me.
Only once and we will be gone.
You and I.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
