Letter carrier

Contributed by alexs3603 on Sunday, 5th November 2006 @ 04:27:06 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

You were born in a different land
Speak a language I don’t understand
You’re used to different things
And tackle life, whatever it brings
So here I am today
2000 miles away
Where the rain doesn’t stop falling
I try to tell my mates about you but they keep calling
You names, they just don’t look outside the four walls
They think of only locals no one else at all

And I’ve tried to bridge the distance
That’s destroying our existence
But barriers
Stop the letter carrier
So now we’ll never be together

I found you on a cloud
That’s now far away, split by a shroud
Of sea, that’s all that’s in between you and me,
But it’s never that easy
Coz now I can never see you
Feel your hair or watch you walk through
My door, so we can go out together
Down the beach or on the pier in the glorious weather,
Of that hot place we met
In the pool, ill never forget
But now we’ve been pulled apart
Back to our hometowns, expected to make a fresh start

And I’ve tried to bridge the distance
That’s destroying our existence
But barriers
Stop the letter carrier
Now we’ll never be together

Well I can’t start again you’re in my minds eye,
The first and last thing I think about, morning and night
Well this is driving me insane
I’m catching a plane
See you tomorrow darling, we’ll go back to our old ways.

And now I’ve bridged the distance,
That’s destroying our existence.
The broken barrier
Makes me the letter carrier
And soon we’ll be together.
