Fit in
By: Steven Escalante

A young boy trying to fit in,
just arrived dirty and slim,
kids talk about him and joke,
but they hurt him before he even spoke,
they dont know him he's new,
they would laugh at everthing he'd do,
but they dont know what this kid goes through,

when he goes home he lives a stuggle,
more worse then a criminal on a drug smuggle,
he gets abused mentally and physically,
hoping this would be a dream,
but this is mere reality for this little seed,
the kids laughed because he could'nt read,
he got beat at home but no one understood,
every generation of his family lived from the hood,

he once painted a picture in class, it was very horrific.
The kids didnt want him near them, so once again he was the
outsider nobody cared for, one cold night as he walked home,
all was quiet, the leaves ruffled on the ground. Then the sudden
voice of an engine was heard, one shot was all it took, to leave
the kid on the concrete all shook. The car blew into the wind and
never returned. The seed laid motionless on the ground with his
young warm blood spewing out of him. no one knew he was there...
just laying in what would be his last bath, in his last words he
said "god...i just wanted to be loved...i wanted to know how that feeling
of being loved felt." The next day, the teacher was grading the painted pictures
and came across this terrible picture. it was the kid's picture. He had
drawn a picture of a Drive by and a kid laying, waiting, dying, on the ground.
The Teacher easily gave him an F. And yet again The classes response was laughter
Because of the grade he got, But the kid knew he'd die young from a bullet shot.
And till this day....they remember him as "the kid no one knew"
