Towering Above

Contributed by mangos on Friday, 3rd November 2006 @ 01:57:54 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

The parachutist leaps
From the tower
The ivory branch of the tree trunk
Demonstrating,
The ability to withstand
And debunk myths
Well planned
From this tower,
The ivory coast can be seen with its sand
And as your gracious host,
Allow me to pull back on your hand
If the thrill craves you the most
No one but you can ever understand

The tower from which I leap
Is planted firmly in the soil of hell
The quandary,
Which I find myself in
Is only one that time can tell
For if my boundary
Stretches this proverbial well
Then my bones shall be crushed
Under the pressures that quell

From the coast of the island
The tower,
Can be seen afar
The fire that is lit,
Burns bright on its pillar
A signal, a code,
Broken by all who look
The global symbol,
Of strength
A noble residual,
Left, from
Ancestors that wept

The tree at its base
Is a tree like none of its kind
A beast of a tree,
Enormous in size
Spanning the seas,
That separates its eyes
The tree of the tower
Is delighted to rise
On occasion,
And boldly describe
How it came to be
And why this high

The parachutist reaches
Clinging to a desperate branch
The love of it is,
He never gets the chance
The chute that he cherishes
Has abandoned his decent
The tower just stares and laughs
The coast that beckoned
Its sand blown to sea at last
