Are you strong enough?

Contributed by MandiLee on Wednesday, 1st November 2006 @ 06:06:07 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

A heat-felt sigh, A cry in the night,
Pain you can't imagine,
Running threw your vains,
Asking you the question
Are you strong enough to stand up,
And fight for who you really are?
Are you going to be molded
By the pressure?
Cave in without a fight?
Or stand strong tall, and proud
For who you really are?

Questions you face everyday
Are seeming to get tougher.
Survival is the key,
The survival of you...

How could I let myself get this way?
Molded and influenced
By lies and the liars.
But yet if I showed you me
Would you still love me?

Very powerful write, its true, it is hard to keep your individuality while trying to fit in to society. That point comes across very well in this poem. Nice write, you set the standard high for us. Keep em coming!

Very good writing. If a person can't luv u for who u r then u don't need them in your life.
I'm never cared about society's thoughts bout me.
Those that really know me except me as is or they can just go on down the road.
good work.
huggs, smiles,
emy

Oh, wow. This is so good....

Exactly. People should totally be themselves, as cliche and reiterative as it sounds. Even I need to stop being so paranoid, but I think everyone is a little scared of what others would really think of them.....

these parts:
Are you strong enough to stand up,
And fight for who you really are?
Are you going to be molded
By the pressure?
Cave in without a fight?
Or stand strong tall, and proud
For who you really are?

it reminds me of like a person about to go in a room filled with new people or something, like afraid of the first impression she'll make... or something.... XD I don't know

How could I let myself get this way?
Molded and influenced

But yet if I showed you me
Would you still love me?

Don't you wish you could just like ask people that? They might think you're crazy for asking but still haha..... I really connected with it, even if that sounds weird XD In middle school I totally changed for people around me, and now 14 yrs. old I'm a little more comfortable with myself. [[ sorry for writing so much XD ]]

I'm here to talk! You did a good job!! ^^
