To the goddess, my most beautiful dream.

Topic: LovePoetry

There she is, a goddess. She sits on a throne of broken promises and wears a tattered dress of lies. Her tearful eyes closed while she rests her soft face in one hand, clutching her bleeding heart in the other. A gentle glow surrounds her, dimmed by a lifetime of heartache and suffering. She cries and the tears sparkle down her lonely cheeks.

Yet there I sit, a mortal man, commonplace and lackluster, watching the goddess agonize over those injustices committed against her.

"Why do you cry, goddess?" She looks at me, startled, but her visage quickly returns to the sorrowful shape it had previously taken. "I cry for my heart mortal man. There is no goodness left in this world, there is no love or joy for me, there is only agony and suffering for one such as me."

"Why believe such a thing?" I inquired. "My story is beyond you mortal man, my pain is vast and my suffering knows no limitations. You're comprehension, I doubt, is adequate." The goddess told me.

"Tell me your story, beautiful goddess. I wish to understand you, and I wish to know your pain." The goddess looked at me with her still tearful eyes, "I will then... I will convey my story to show you... To show you that there is nothing that can be done for me."

The goddess began, "My heart once loved. It loved a mortal man such as you. Yet my love is heavy and my heart beats wildly. The man loved me for a season and took care of my heart, but my love proved to be too heavy for a mortal." The goddess paused to wipe a tear from her eye. "He soon found my love too heavy a burden to carry. He dropped my heart and ran from me."

"Let me carry your heart precious goddess, let me bear your love." I said. The goddess looked solemnly at me, "The past teaches us valuable lessons mortal, I cannot make the same mistake. My heart has become weak with time and it cannot withstand any more punishment. Leave me to my grief mortal man."

I reply, "My most beautiful goddess, this burden should be mine to carry. I will take your pain from you and I will shoulder your sorrow. I am not able to move the sun in the sky, to change the tide or the wind, or to bend the earth to my will as the gods do, but my goddess, I am able to bear this weight for you. I am able to carry your love and lift your heart until my own heart does stop. I will carry it while you play in the fields of white roses, or converse with the butterflies. I will carry it while you sleep peacefully and while you dance to a cheerful song. Let me free you of this weight for eternity my precious goddess."

The goddess' eyes fixed themselves on me. "What if you cannot handle my love?" What if you drop my heart or are crushed by its weight? Will you run from me? Will you cause me to suffer?"

"Oh my goddess, let me share in all your pain and in all of your insecurities. Let this be a chain that binds me to you. With this chain I will never be able to run from you, and I will always be next to you. And no matter how heavy the weight is, I will always bear a thousand times more if it means I can watch you shine and be happy. So shine goddess, and let me bear your troubles for all time."

Baby, I remember when you wrote me this. I can remember way back then when everything seemed so perfect, when even though in our own lives we both had stresses, with each other it just seemed to melt everything else away. I love You so much and always will. One day our pure happiness will return i promise you that!

I love you baby! xoxo
