Don't Let Me Freeze

Contributed by Sio on Tuesday, 31st October 2006 @ 01:54:20 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

When my expression freezes
The only thing I give away
Is that I don’t want to give something away
My face freezes often
I hold my steady gaze
Eyes turn from blue to steel
My face is like a statue
It gives away no emotion
I don’t like having to do it
It is more instinct now
I hear words stringed together
Ones I do not want to hear
And my mind goes off like a trigger
My face freezes
Water turns to ice when it is cold
When words turn cold
My face acts as ice
It’s solid and unreadable
Water has life, love, unpredictability
Ice is rigid, steadfast, and tenacious
There is a way to see past the steel
Look for the blue in my eyes
The water that lives beneath the ice
It begs to be seen
It wants the spring
It wants the cool words to turn warm
So that the ice melts
I cannot make the ice melt
Only you can
You are my seasons
But if you are indifferent
It doesn’t matter if it is water or ice
They are the same thing to you
Made of the same elements
Just in different states
If you are indifferent
Spill your cold words elsewhere
I don’t care how you see me
But I don’t like to freeze.
