I Can’t Be Lost in the Peace of the Sea

Contributed by alison on Monday, 30th October 2006 @ 03:19:05 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I can't be lost in the peace of the sea,

I don’t know what to do,
I doubt I could do anything if I so desired,
I don’t know what to think,
I wonder if I'm even capable of such,
I don’t know what to feel,
I marvel at the impossibility of simply feeling,

Doing only that which I do for you,
Thinking only of the sight of your smile,
Feeling just your touch on my face,

Wanting to run away,
Yet unable to even move,
Wanting to ask you to leave,
Yet escaping from my lips only is please stay,
Wanting to snow and freeze my emotion,
Yet the sun burns ever brightly through my heart,

Standing still in the shadow of your gentle arms,
Staring silently in the awe of your sweetly spoken words,
Smiling uncontrollable in the wave of your heart beating,

I don’t know if you really care,
I doubt that you are different from the rest,
I don’t know what you really think about me,
I wonder if you’re real,
I don’t know how you feel about me,
I marvel that you are still around,

I want to believe you,
I want to know you,
I want to hear you breathe as you sleep,
I want to hold you through the storm of life,
I want to forever be lost at sea in your green eyes,

But I can't be lost in the peace of the sea,
I just don't know....

Wow, sounds like you're very confused at the moment. Good descriptions and use of contradictions in this one. I really like how it comes together in the final 2 stanzas, but leaves the reader unable to say much - kind of how you're expressing how you feel.
Hope this feeling doesn't consume you for too long Alison...

- Tim

To feel.. is of the quintessential human trait.. and can be manifested, readily, through whatever medium we choose.. no matter, the choice and talent that begets us.. and is ALL iinherent to the progression and or regression, of our individual greater good~
and blah.. blah.. blah.. lol

be and write well my friend-

B
