My Devotion

Contributed by JennyF on Monday, 30th October 2006 @ 06:49:13 AM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

My devotion I give to you,
I bestow with all my heart.
So many things I wish to share,
but I don't know where to start.

I have watched as you were hurt,
by souls that believed in you not.
I have seen your tears so many times,
grief was all that you've got.

Women you've trusted your heart to,
and even friends that we've shared.
Many of them turning their backs on you,
instead of supporting you they never cared.

But those people they don't have a clue,
as to what you really go through in life.
Things you willingly did for others,
even though it caused you strife.

These women were often beautiful,
able to enchant most any man.
But I appreciate you in ways that they don't,
I need you to please understand.

There's one thing I have that they do not,
something money could never buy.
Endless understanding and devotion,
an abundance of love for my special guy.

I am always a friend and more if you want,
I don't care what others believe.
Let them live in their selfish delusions,
and the chaotic webs that they weave.

They think noone else could ever love you?
well I have some shocking news for them.
There is someone needing somebody like you,
someone who truly believes you're a gem.

So let them laugh and stroke their own egos,
by hurting you and complicating your life.
Someday they may all get something special in the mail:
an eight by ten glossy of me as your wife!
