Tick…tock…tick…tock
As the clock brings you back to a time of peace and resistance against the futile thoughts of a mindless existence
You back track like a boy whose lost his toy
Ripping through your memories
Like a dog through a piece of meat
This… time
Has got you beat
As the clock strikes twelve
And the bells begin to ring
Not a person was sturing
No, not a thing.
But this is no Christmas poem
So let’s quit the game
And enter reality.
The First Bell Rings and you’re
Drifting away. So far, far apart from things you once knew to be your all.
It’s not easy awaiting that fall
Snapping back to reality
You try to crawl away from the thought of it all.
Like stepping into a new realm
You feel confused, yet somehow familiar with this place not home.
Finding comfort in the similarities between the here and the now,
And the past far blown.
Seeking refuge in those memories of home, family, friends.
All that have been left behind in the minds of the blind sighted agitators posing as emulators of what you called friends.
To see the truth all depends.
Do they clown you, and do you trust them?
The last bell rings…
From the time in between
From the first and the last
You try to hold tight in your grasp this fixation with the past
Relying on these past things
To bring you through the futures agonies.
But as your sitting there
Rummaging through your treasure chest of thoughts
Just remember
As the clock brings you back to a time of peace and resistance
Against the futile thoughts of a mindless existence
There’s no point relying on a menial remembrance.
Because time is just a symbol
Of our own ignorance.
