memories

Contributed by riverofwords on Sunday, 16th February 2003 @ 03:22:54 PM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

as I walk along the beach
watching he myraid colours of the sky
as the sun slowly sets
it reminds me of when we first met

the moon glides smoothly to its zenith
as we walked and talked
holding hands as lovers do
watching the the moon beams dance on the water

walk back to the house unaware of time
open the door hope you would be there
door opening you running and leaping into my arms laughing the way constantly did
my heart drops the doorway is empty
I am alone

later i lie in bed i lok to the empty pillow beside me
and remember how i ran my fingers through your hair ,gentle kiss, then drift off to sleep
i still sense the fragrance of you ,lingering

toss and turning every night, eventually cry myself to sleep
missing you ,hurting with a sadness deep and heart wrencing
what keeps me going is the love we shared
and the memories

river of words, something I too have known and well captured in your sadness. It gets a little easier to bear but never dies away.
