Deepest Of Dreams

In my deepest of dreams,
I seem to float outside myself,
trying to glimpse the edge of eternity.
Picturing blessed events unfolding,
as I traveled the winding path of my life.
I behold endless dancing silhouettes,
countless apparitions of souls I have known.
I hear beautiful but sad songs,
enchanting echoes of love and loss carried on the winds.
I see doorways closing and windows opening,
as I try to escape the bonds of solitude.
I smell the roses of countless blooms,
luring me closer with their sweet fragrance.
I glimpse a vivid myriad of colors,
painting a world set deep in the minds eye.
I feel all there is and yet I do not,
as I struggle with this blurred vision of reality.
Attempting to focus on a million pinpoints of light,
I feel the pull of the endless tides of time,
as they me bring me back into this gray and white world.
I stir and reluctantly awaken once again,or have I?
From my deepest of dreams.
