Apple a Day

Contributed by yangdantien on Sunday, 29th October 2006 @ 12:57:41 AM in AEST
Topic: surreal

In the year 2116

We sing a tale of Sir Paul McCartney

With " birthday greetings and bottle of wine,"

This Liverpool kid strumming and singing

he follows John and duo becomes quad..

From Quarrymen to Beatle with an "'A' and not an 'Eeee'"

And 'Wings' gone "Back to the Egg" after 'Linda' de-parts,

then "Band on the Run" from the horrid divorce.

He starts to just show up on the set for many TV shows and movies.
For years it became the rage and all the fashion; where would he be next
to simply smile say 'Hi' and flash a word on an white card.

Some 2116 appearances in 11 years total
upon his death bed he reveals is last will and testament
was written in each of his cameos.

All things he bequeath
he made sure he took good care of his kith and kin,
gave away millions to help the 'have nots,'
said he was "So Sorry Uncle Albert"
willed his cell phone be kept active
and bestowed so any who called
"With a Little Luck"
could speak with one he loved.

When we study the foootage of all those cameos
each had purpose and was threaded together
"Maybe I'm Amazed" as silent text
flashed in bold black lettering
on the ivory white of the past
cut in the shape of an apple split
reminding us as the Beatles did
"and
in the end,
the Love we take
is
equal
to
the
Love
We make."

Well, I'm honored to say I got a pre-peek at this gem. I love the Beatles. I loved this write. How you incorporated tunes right on in there. I hope The_Unknown will search out some of the great Beatles works you've mentioned. My favorite Beatle was John Lennon. But I loved them all. Thank you for sharing this soulful piece.
Peace and hugs,
Laura

This is great!

My whole family loves The Beatles, and I grew up with them.

I'm 14 now and I still adore them, and this is a great tribute to them, you did so good sneaking in those little lyrics!

I know if I show this to my mom and dad, they'll think it's great too. This is a poem that would have any fan smiling when they read it! XD

gotta love The Beatles... ^_^

You did an awesome job!!

AJ .. I am impressed. This was a wonderful trip
through nostalgia. The Beatles, Wings, and just
plain old, Paul have given much to the world through
music and thought .. I adore this one.

And the ending is perfect, my friend!
