Fabulous on the outside

All so fake.
Pretending to be perfect.
How good actors are we?
Let's say we are friends,
let's get high, smile at each other and hold our hands
and share our loneliness together.

Then, in the darkness
I sit up and feel the vows
of the past shaping the future.
How many more nights?
How many more cramps, twitches and brightless lights?
Does it count in the dark?

Together but alone.
Emotional numbness diagnosed
with no desire to care.
Just keep your past tight, future locked up and have a spare
as your mind sees the only causing name:
Cocaine, Cocaine.
