Carfax Abbey

The light... That faint pallid light
haunting the windows
of Carfax Abbey
The mist... That cold pallid mist
that swirls 'neath the trees
of this desolate place
What master resides yet in the dawn hides
what godless things might run through the dreams
the murderous dreams of this Abbey
the villainous shroud of the Abbey
Am I lost to my God in the deep of the fog
do those footsteps I dread be those of the dead
the dead who reside in this Abbey
the ghouls in the mist of this Abbey
The light... that faint pallid light
no comfort for those who stand lost
near this Abbey
The mist... that cold pallid mist
reaching for me like the arms of the dead...

This poem makes a lot more sense now that I know it's about Dracula. I liked it. |
