A perfect facade
A perfect life
A perfect smile
A perfect lie
It seems I've got it all together
It seems I have everything
But when I'm alone my life falls apart
The walls I've built are slowly crumbling
If only you cared about something more
Is my outer self really all that counts?
Every day I'm forced to fake
Can you see the shadow behind my eyes?
I try to seem so sure of myself
I block you out when you start growing near
But inwardly beneath this charade
I'm desperate for someone to come find me
I wish that I could reveal all my fears
I wish that I could open up and you would still care
I wish someone could see past this masquerade
I wish you were blind so you could see me

Great write! It's so much easier to hide behind a happy face and a fake smile, but just be careful because some day that wall will crumble and no one will understand.
Best wishes. |
