A Summer’s Day

The sky of blueberry,
Tart and staining,
With clouds of marshmallow white,
Sweet and comforting,
The lemon burning brightly,
Permeating all it infuses,
The black birds fill up like chips of chocolate,
Melting into the glaze of lemonade,
The trees of the highest green,
Like a ripe watermelon filled with flavor,
The grass a deep apple green,
The scent of bitter sweet mother earth,
The tiny brown squirrels running to and fro,
Like the blending batch of brownies,
The gentle breeze flows yieldingly,
Like a crisp, fresh, glass of spring water,
Thus is the passing of a summer’s day,
Fulfilled with cherry faces,
And tasteful hello’s,
The cherry pie is made and ready,
Simply for people to enjoy,
Yet like the goodness of a grand feast,
The day goes as fast as it came.

This is an incredibly creative write!! I really like the use of food metaphors!! It has a nice pace to it too - like strolling through a summer park, taking it all in.
Very good write!
Unlike you though, summer's just starting for me!! I love summer!!
