Halloween Mischief Makers

Not really a vindictive bunch were we,
yet quite mischievous was our group of three.
"Trick or treat!", we boldly announced,
feeling safe in the anonymity of our costumes.
As pirate, ghost and skeleton we were adorned.
Each carried a large sack full of candy treats.
Weighed down with our treasure load,
back home to unload.
Sick from eating copious amounts of my sweets
a partial bottle of Pepto-Bismol was my treat.
Shortly thereafter I recuperated and
eagerly, my friends and I ventured forth.
We already had so much candy among us
the desire to become mischievous struck.
I suggested we visit the old haunted place;
a dilapidated Gothic looking structure nearby.
So already full of all the candy we could eat,
the focus switched, with trick preferred over treat.
We encroached unpon the scary house;
believing these shenanigans would make our night complete.
It always seemed the place was empty,
yet quite spooky, so we approached apprehensively.
"Trick or treat!", we whispered with a soft knock on the huge wooden door.
No one answered so we were mischievous indeed.
With our bars of soap we smeared his windows.
Oh what fun, not really vandalism.
As we became bolder, we began to laugh aloud.
Acting in a manner likely to draw a crowd.
Suddenly, the door explosively burst open and
out crashed a scruffy, burley man.
We screamed in terror and tried to run,
but he was much too big and fast, and he caught everyone.
The next hour was spent
washing his windows and vowing to repent.
We finally left for home,
further embarrassed by this haunting "trick or treat" incident.

Hee Hee That was a great Halloween story. Had me reading along pretty fast, to see what the hec was going to happen. Lucky you only had to wash the windows. LOL Take care, my friend and Happy Halloween.

Haha. I can just imagine how scary that must've been when that door burst open... The embarrassment factor is always good though; it means a lesson was learned : )
