Do you have any idea what you stole?
Do you know what it's value was?
Did you know that it was a gift I had
cherished all of my life.
Did you know that know matter how hard
I try I can never get it back.
Think back, tell me, did you realize
then what you did would affect the
lives of so many?
Have you ever wondered what scars I have
to show of the prize you thought you won?
I have them, they are deep inside,
they are hidden, but they hurt.
One day, one day, dear brother,
I will tell of the life you stole.

Your emotionally painful write went straight to my heart. I could feel every word of it. My simple words won't heal your scars, but I do pray for the return of your inner peace. Well-written poem. |

You express familiar emotions well in words and thoughtful questions. Sometimes something must be taken from us to make use of what is left, or discover our true or new talents. Great write! |
