Blue Collar Man

I did the best I could, being a blue collar man,
With a blue collar mind, and blue collar hands.
My wife left alone in our humble abode,
A truck as my home, and my mistress, the road.
Endlessly eating at truck stop buffets,
Sleeping roadside at the cool break of day.
Member of the interstate fraternity,
To make ends meet, I missed my paternity.
And when people ask me if I have any regrets,
I say I wasn’t perfect, but I tried my very best.
